Dear GATJ members,
Konnichiwa! This is Seiko Onuki, and I'm the 2018-19 President of GATJ.
I am thrilled to announce that GATJ is starting a new program, GATJ Japanese Teacher of the Year (TOTY) to honor one K-12 and one college level Japanese teacher each year.
This award is supported by Georgia Dept. of Education, and this year’s committee members are Seiko Onuki and Ms. Tomoko Frayer from Georgia Virtual School. The nominations will be reviewed by the committee members, including Mr. Patrick Wallace from Georgia Dept. of Education. TOTY selection will be announced in April, and award ceremony will be held at the annual GATJ meeting.
Any school administrator or colleague may submit a nomination (self-nominations are not accepted). I will be reaching out to the district leadership as well as your direct supervisor based on the list of current GATJ members.
Please consider the great work your colleagues are doing and how inspiring they are to you. Nominations can be made through the following site, and the window for nominations will close Sunday, March 10th at 5pm:
